MINUTES OF A FULL MEETING OF YATTON KEYNELL PARISH COUNCIL

1. PUBLIC GALLERY

A petition regarding the speed of traffic through the village is still being circulated, so far there has been a lot of interest in the petition, and it has a lot of signatures.

It was decided that Martin Rose, Jane Scott, available councillors and a representative from the group who started the speed petition would walk through the village and monitor the speed of the traffic.

5. REGISTER OF ACTIONS

The footpath behind the surgery was a revived topic, and a new quote needs to be obtained from Will Wolf.

The phone box, it was decided that it might be worth getting a quote from Gary Packer to fit the glass and complete the refurbishment.

It was decided not to proceed with the idea of a defibrillator for the village.

6. FINANCE

7 cheques were signed:

  • £21.86 for Southern Electric (April)
  • £279.86 for WALC 15/16 Subcription
  • £564.00 for JCBS
  • £169.20 for Complete Weed Control
  • £149.12 for Clerks wages
  • £22.70 for Southern Electric (May)
  • £43.98 for James Skinner (for village website)

7. DISTRIBUTION OF SOLAR FARM COMMUNITY FUND

The council will be announcing the application process on June 1st. Any groups that wish to apply for some of the money will need to follow the application process which will be considered by the council. The aim is to have all applications in by the end of July for consideration over August and September.

8. PLANNING

– 15/03868/VAR – Pond Cottage, SN14 7EW – Variation of condition 2 of 14/09943/FUL (Alteration to rooflight)

As this is a listed building, the parish council have no objections, and the decision will be left to listed buildings. All were in favour.

-15/03150/FUL – Land at Brooms Farm Yatton Keynell, SN14 7JU – Change of Use of Agricultural Land for the Siting of Five Fishing/Holiday Lodges and Ancillary Works.

It was decided that because the proposed fishing lets would cause a visual impact on the area, and that the access lane to the pond is unsuitable for a larger volume of traffic. It was proposed to object the application. All were in favour. It was also decided that Cllr. Scott would call in the application.

9. COUNCILLORS QUESTIONS AND ITEMS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS

Following a rise in comments regarding potholes and street lights in the village, Cllr. Hayward suggested that the parish council should put a piece in the Honeycomb to highlight the purpose of the CLARENCE service. It was decided this was a good idea.

Cllr. Plowman commented on the Parish councils filing cabinet, and if it was still needed. As most of the paperwork is archived, it was decided to archive what was still needed, and destroy anything that was surplus to requirements.
