We are very sad to report that Chris Dash, Yatton Keynell resident and long-serving member of our community, passed away on 13th October 2013.
Chris served on the Yatton Keynell Parish Council for nearly 30 years, with nine years as Chairman, and was an active supporter of the Recreation Association and many other village groups, giving many hours of time in support of the village, its residents and facilities.

Chris Dash accepts the award for Best Kept Medium Village 2010
Chris was involved with countless village projects, including the construction of the Village Hall, a successful campaign to prevent the closure of the Post Office, the development of our wonderful Market Cross area, and many other stages in the gradual transition of the community from agricultural to residential. The fact that our newer residential developments are so in keeping with the rest of the village is testament in no small part to Chris’ efforts.
Asked, in August 2011 when stepping down as Chairman of the Parish Council, what legacy he would wish to leave the village, Chris replied:
It is impossible to name one as so much has been achieved by the Parish Council over the last nine years. I suppose the successful transition from an agriculture orientated community to a very much residential community I trust will be a long lasting legacy from the last nine years. A tangible legacy must of course be the Market Cross corner. I am so proud to have played a part in its development.
A packed congregation at St. Margaret’s Church attended a celebration of Chris’ life on Saturday 26th October 2013.
